- 2 Medium Macintosh Apples, peeled and cored
- 1 T lemon juice
- 3 T butter
- 1/2 Cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 t cinnamon plus extra for garnish
- 1/2 t grated lemon peel
- 1 Pint vanilla ice cream

Step 1
Cut apples into quarters and then slice into 2" pieces, place in a bowl and toss with the lemon juice
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat, add the apples; cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Reduce heat to low and add the sugar, cinnamon and lemon peel stiring to evenly coat the apples. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes longer, remove from heat and allow to cool for 10 minutes and serve over ice cream
