Ingredients

  • Bread Pudding
  • 1/4 Cup Butter
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 3/4 Cups sugar
  • 2 Cups Milk, whole
  • 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla
  • 4 or 5 slices Texas toast (or equivalent white bread)
  • Cinnamon (to taste)
  • Amaretto Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Butter
  • 2 Tbsp Amaretto

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat Oven to 400 degrees
Melt butter in the baking dish in the oven.
In a large mixing bowl, mix the eggs, sugar, milk and vanilla.
Tear the bread into pieces and add to the liquid mixture.
Let the bread soak in the liquid mixture for a few minutes; then pour into the baking dish with butter melted.
Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees; bake for 45 minutes or until desired consistency is reached.
Top with sauce.
Amaretto Sauce
Mix sugar, butter and Amaretto in a sauce pan and heat until sugar dissolves.
When the bread pudding is done, using a sharp knife make slits in the bread pudding.
Pour the hot Amaretto sauce over the pudding allowing it to soak in for a few minutes.
Serve warm.
NOTE: Recipe can be doubled. Increase baking time to 60 to 70 minutes.
