Ingredients
- CAKE
- 2 sticks butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 cups self rising flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- SEVEN MINUTE FROSTING
- 3 eggs whites, unbeaten
- 2 cups sugar
- 7 tablespoons water
- 2 teaspoons light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
- GARNISH
- coconut

Preparation
Step 1
CAKE
preheat oven 375*
cream butter thoroughly
add sugar and eggs
cream until light and fluffy
sift flour and add alternately with milk, a small amount at a time
beating well after each addition
add vanilla
pour into 3 well greased 9 inch cake pans and bake 30 minutes
FROSTING
combine egg whites, sugar, water and corn syrup in top of double boiler
beat until well mixed
place over boiling water, beating constantly , approximately 7 minutes or until frosting stands in peaks
remove from heat add vanilla and beat until thick enough to spread over each layer
GARNISH
sprinkle cake generously with coconut
