Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons vegetable oil divided
  • cup chopped pecans
  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 1 small box french vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 3/4 cup dark rum
  • GLAZE
  • 1 STICK BUTTER
  • 1/2 CUP WATER
  • 1 CUP SUGAR
  • 1/2 TO 3/4 CUP DARK RUM

Preparation

Step 1

preheat oven to 350*grease and flour bundt pan
pour 2 tablespoons oil over bottom of pan
sprinkle pecans over oil
mix together cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water, and rest of oil and rum
pour batter over nuts
bake 1 hour our until done
cool 10 minutes, then pour glaze over cake while still in pan
turn cake out of pan onto plate after about 15 minutes
FOR GLAZE
melt butter in pan stir in wate and sugar
boil a couple of minutes, stirring constantly
remove from heat and stir in rum
