Cabbage Roll Soup

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cabbage, roughly chopped
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 1 28 oz. can tomato sauce (or about 3 cups)
  • 1 28 oz. can diced tomatoes
  • 1 15 oz. can diced tomatoes (need about 4 cups total)
  • 1 cup Minute Rice (uncooked)

Preparation

Step 1




In skillet add onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, ground beef and salt.
Cook over medium eat till beef is browed (7-10 minutes)

In 6 quart slow cooker add cabbage, oregano, basil, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, water and ground beef mixture.

Stir to combine.

Cover and cook on low heat 8-10 hours.

In last 1/2 hour of cooking, cook the rice according to package directions.

Add the cooked rice to the slow cooker and stir to combine.
