Preparation

Step 1

In a small bowl, mix together butter, onion, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until well combined. Add poppy seeds and stir to combine.
With a serrated knife, slice rolls open horizontally. Place each bottom portion on a sheet of aluminum foil {sprayed lightly with non-stick cooking spray} large enough to wrap up the full package of rolls. Spread the cut side of each top and bottom portion of the rolls evenly with butter mixture.
Cover the bottom portion of the rolls with a layer of Swiss cheese slices. Pile cheese slices with a layer of ham. Place top portion of rolls on top.
Wrap each set of rolls in foil. Bake at 350℉ for 20 – 25 minutes until heated through and cheese is melted. Serve warm.

Optional:
~ Combine about 3 T. melted butter with about 1/8 tsp. poppy seeds; brush over tops of rolls before baking. This looks nice on the finished rolls, and is what I did for the ones in the photos of this post. I actually prefer not to do this, though, because it makes for greasy fingers when eating the party sandwiches.

~ Before wrapping the party sandwiches in foil to bake, use a serrated knife to cut them on their "lines" to separate them into individual sandwiches. This makes them much easier to grab and serve after baking ... without pulling all the filling out while trying to pull them apart.
