Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 2 (12-oz.) packages frozen berries
- 1 cup sugar, divided
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose-flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cp. Milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
- Vanilla Ice-cream (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
1. Place 4 tbsp. butter in a 10in. iron skillet, put skillet in oven @ 350 degrees until butter is melted
2. Meanwhile, toss fruit/berry with ¾ cup of sugar in a bowl
3. Sift together 1 ½ cups flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Stir in milk, vanilla, and remaining ¼ cup sugar
4. Add hot melted butter to flour mixture, and stir until blended. Pour batter evenly into skillet. Pour fruit/berry mixture into center of batter
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until top is golden brown and a wooden toothpick inserted in crust comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes.
*Two (12-oz.) packages of frozen mixed fruit/berries may be substituted for frozen fruit/berries
