Instead of buying the glaze, make this 2 ingredient one and store the extra. Drizzle over fish, poultry, vegetables, pastas, salads, ice cream and even fruit. Add to sauces for a more complex flavor.

  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 6 tablespoons maple syrup, honey or brown sugar

Step 1

Mix balsamic vinegar with brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar has dissolved.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium low, and simmer until glaze is reduced by half, about 10 minutes. The glaze should coat the back of a spoon.
Let cool before serving. Pour into a jar with a lid or a squeeze bottle. Store in refrigerator.
If the glaze is over reduced and too thick, heat in microwave and add HOT water until it's the right consistency
