Ingredients
- 3/4 to 1 cup sugar
- 1 t. cinnamon
- 6-7 cups peeled, sliced apples
- 1-1/2 T. butter

Step 1
Heat oven to 425 degrees.Mix sugar and cinnamon. Mix lightly with apples. Heap up in pastry lined pie pan. Dot with butter. Cover with top crust. Seal and flute edges. Cut slit in top crust for steam to escape. Cover edge with aluminum foil or pie shield to prevent excessive browning. Bake 50-60 min., or until crust is nicely browned and apples are cooked through (test with fork). Serve warm or cold.
