Ingredients
- 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
- 2 T vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup minced onion
- 1 clove garlic, peeled and minced
- 1/2 lb ground chuck
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato puree
- 1/2 tsp. crushed, dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp. crushed, dried thyme
- 2 bay leaves
- dash crushed red pepper
- salt and pepper to taste
- 6-8 oz spaghetti, cooked
- parsley sprigs for garnish

Step 1
In a large skillet, saute pepper in oil for 5 minutes. Add onion and garlic and saute 5 minutes more. Add meat and break up with a spoon. Cook until meat is browned. Pour off any fat. Add tomato puree and seasonings. Simmer, uncovered, 15-20 minutes. Remove bay leaves before serving. Spoon over cooked spaghetti and serve hot to 2 with parsley for garnish.
