  • 1 box, dry chocolate cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup serving from a can of vanilla frosting

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, beat together dry cake mix, milk, eggs and melted butter until fully combined and smooth.
Pour batter into prepared baking dish.
Sprinkle top of batter with chocolate chips and press them down lightly.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let cake cool for 30 minutes.
With a long fork, pork holes all over the surface of the cake. Spraying the fork with non stick cooking spray makes this job a little less messy and easier.
Pour caramel sauce on top. Then, have cake sit for 1 hour and let caramel soak in.
Microwave frosting for about 15-30 seconds until it is thinned out and easy to drizzle.
Drizzle top of cake with frosting.
Keep leftovers covered in refrigerator.
