Step 1

In a cocktail shaker mix 1.5 oz of bourbon, 1 oz of grapefruit juice, .5 oz maple syrup and 3 chopped strawberries. Shake and double strain into a martini type glass. Can mix it up as a standard Derby calls for honey and not syrup. Also, can use blueberries or other fruits. Also can rim glass with some type of sugar.
