Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tea. vanilla
  • 6 cups bread, cubed
  • 1 cup chocolate chips, semi or dark chocolate
  • cooking spray

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, eggs, sugar and vanilla.

Toss bread cubes and choc. chips into the egg mixture.

Refrigerate 1 hour to allow the bread to absorb the egg mixture.

Grease 7 half pint wide mouth jars. Fill with bread custard and cover with lids. Place back in refrigerator overnight.

When ready to cook preheat oven to 375 degrees. Set jars out to come back to room temperature.

Pour about 1" boiling water into a baking pan. Transfer jars to the baking pan. Bake 20-30 minutes or until tops turn brown.

Enjoy warm.
