Beer, Jerky, and Cheddar Dip 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbs. unsalted butter
  • 3 Tbs. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 3/4 cup Stout or Porter beer
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper ground
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 12 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 6 oz. Three Jerks Jerky minced (original flavor)
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
  • Pretzels, crostini crackers and/or vegetables for serving

Preparation

Step 1

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
Add the mustard and Cayenne, cook for 2 minutes stirring constantly. Add the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes.
Slowly whisk in the cream and beer, increase the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a simmer.
Add the Worcestershire and cook, whisking occasionally, until the mixture begins to thicken, 3 to 5 minutes.
Working in batches, add the cheese, whisking until each batch has melted before adding more.
Last, add minced Jerky to the cheese sauce and season with salt and pepper.
Serve immediately with pretzels, crostini, or raw vegetables to dip.
