Ingredients

  • 1 TBS canola oil
  • 1 TBS unsalted butter
  • 1/2 medium onion (thinly sliced) *for onion gravy only
  • 1 1/2 TBS all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 TBS Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oil and butter in large skillet on medium-high heat. (For onion gravy, saute the onion in butter and oil until soft and slightly browned)

Add flour and cook, stirring 1 minute. Stir in water, broth, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper. Simmer on low until gravy is thickened. Season with salt and extra Worcestershire sauce.
