Ingredients

  • LEMON SAUCE:
  • 6 - 8 slices of bread, cubed (take bread the night before)
  • Scald 4 cup milk and pour onto 5 beaten eggs.
  • Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla,1-1/4 cup sugar. Stir well
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Preparation

Step 1

Add all ingredients to bread cubes.

Pour to greased 9x9 pan and bake at 350 for 1 hour.

NOTE: you can also bake in pan of water and put the dish in.


Lemon Sauce:
Mix sugar and cornstarch in saucepan. Stir in water gradually. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils.

Boil and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat, stir in remaining ingredients.

Note: You can have the pudding without the sauce.
