Ingredients
- 3 lb ground beef
- 3 c water
- 1/3 c cornstarch
- 3/4 c soy sauce
- 2-6 oz. pkg frozen pea pods, thawed
- 2-10 oz. pkg frozen peas
- 1 c chopped celery
- 1 c chopped onions
- 3/4 c chopped green pepper
- 1 T sugar
- 3/4 t ground ginger
- 1/3 c water
- 2-7 oz. cans bamboo shoots, drained
- 3-3 oz. cans chow mein noodles

Step 1
In large skillet, cook ground beef, celery, onions, green pepper until beef is browned; drain. Add 3 c water, bring to boil. Combine cornstarch, sugar, ginger; blend in soy sauce and 1/3 c water. Add to beef mixture, cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Stir in bamboo shoots and pea pods. Break up frozen peas, add to beef mix. Put in three 1 1/2 qt casseroles. Cover tightly. Freeze. Bake frozen casserole, covered 400 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Stir once or twice. Uncover, top with chow mein noodle, bake 5- 10 minutes more. (to make without freezing simmer in skillet until heated through and vegetables are tender) Serve over chow mein noodles or rice
