Ingredients

  • 1 Small diced onion
  • 1 lb. Ground Beef
  • 2 Cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1/2 Cup Ketchup
  • 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbs. Mustard
  • 1 tsp. Chili Powder
  • Salt, Pepper
  • Butter, Bread (Sourdough is best)
  • 2 Cups Shredded Cheese (Cheddar, Colby or Colby Jack)

Preparation

Step 1

Brown the Beef and onions, add garlic
Stir in Ketchup, Brown Sugar, mustard and chili powder
Salt and pepper to taste

Simmer until thick, maybe 5 minutes.

Assemble sandwich: Butter bread, spoon on Sloppy Joe Mixture, Top with Cheese and put other buttered bread on top. Cook until heated like you would a grilled cheese. Works best on Panini or with a press so you don't have to flip it.
