Spicy Ham with Fruit 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. margaine
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 4 tsp. Dijon-style mustaard
  • 1 can chicken broth
  • 1 large green pepper, cut in 1" squares
  • 1 can (16oz.) fruit cocktail (drain & reserve syrup
  • 3/4 tsp. celery seed
  • salt & pepper
  • 2 cups cubed ham
  • 3 cups hot cooked rice

Preparation

Step 1

Saute onions in butter until tender. Blend cornstarch, sugar, mustard, syrup from fruit cocktail, and broth. Stir into onions. Cook, stirring constantly, until thick & clear. Add green pepper, ham, celery seed, & fruit cocktail. Cook until meat is thoroughly heated. Season to taste. Serve over beds of rice.
