Ingredients

  • 40 saltines (approximately)
  • 2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips (milk chocolate ok)
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a 17x11x1 inch cookie sheet with heavy duty foil. Spray with cooking spray.
2. Place crackers in a single layer to cover bottom of pan.
3. melt together butter and brown sugar in a heavy saucepan over moderate heat; bring to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly! Should look brownish and bubbly. Remove from heat and pour over crackers, covering evenly. Bake for 3 minutes. Mixture will be hot and bubbling.
4. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over top. Let melt and spread to cover crackers. Sprinkle pecans over chocolate and press gently. Refrigerate until solid. Break into pieces.
