Instructions
Turn your instant pot to saute - add the pound of ground beef.
While the beef is cooking- dice the onion, the garlic and the potatoes.
Occasionally look in on the beef and break it up with a wooden spoon.
Once the beef has browned- add 2 cups water the seasoning and salt. Scrape the bottom of the pot to make sure all the browned bits are lifted up. Anything burnt/stuck on the bottom of the pot will mess up the pot coming to pressure. Hit cancel to turn the saute function off.
Add the onions, garlic, potatoes, one can of diced tomatoes with the juices and the broth. Stir it up.
Close the lid, and set the vent to sealing on the lid. Hit manual and set to cook for 15 minutes. I had broth straight from the fridge and my pot took about 22 minutes to reach pressure. This is the beauty of the instant pot. Once you set it to manual it will come to pressure and cook without you babysitting it. You can go shower- workout- help you kids with homework whatever!
After the pot has cooked 15 minutes at high pressure, you can let the pressure come down naturally or do a quick release. I did a quick release with great success, since we were very hungry! If you are not around the pot will switch to warm on it's own and start release the pressure slowly.
Store any leftovers in a airtight container! I love these guys that can go right into the oven or microwave the next day at work!
