Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 loaves of bread - toasted and broken into small pieces
  • 1 med. onion - chopped fine
  • 5 hardcooked eggs- chopped fine
  • 1 large can mushrooms – chopped
  • 5 or 6 large stalks of celery - including leaves - chopped fine
  • 1 Tbs. parsley
  • 1 stick of butter melted and dribbled over all
  • Poultry seasoning and Sage to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • MY ADDITIONS TO THE RECIPE: 1 LB. SAGE SAUSAGE, I USE FRESH MUSHROOMS, 3 T. PARSLEY AND I USE 1 1/4 BAGS OF PREPARED STUFFING CUBES.

Preparation

Step 1

Cook turkey giblets ahead of time with 1 bay leaf, 1 medium onion, 1 stalk of celery (including leaves - chopped).
Save the broth.
Chop cooked giblets and add to the above. Toss all ingredients lightly. Use just enough of the reserved broth from the cooked giblets to moisten. Careful not to get too wet - dressing will be kinda dry. Stuff the bird lightly, then enjoy!
I DON'T STUFF THE BIRD, COOK STUFFING IN LIGHTLY GREASED 9x13 ON 350' UNTIL BROWNED.
