Ingredients
- 16 oz. pkg. green split peas
- 3 qts. of water
- 1 small ham shank
- 1 lg. onion
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 1/2 teas. garlic powder
- 1/2 teas. oregano
- 1/2 teas. pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 c. carrots sliced thin
- 1 c. chopped celery

Preparation
Step 1
In a large, deep pot, combine peas, water, ham shank, onion, chicken bouillon & seasonings. Simmer 1 ½ hours. Remove ham shank; trim meat off & return meat to pot. Stir in carrots & celery. Simmer 2-2 ½ hrs.
