Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1.5-2 large onion, chopped (2 cup)
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 jalapeno
  • 2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 2 teaspoon unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper sauce (siracha)
  • 3 cans (14oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can chili beans, undrained
  • 1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 c. juice from cooked chicken (optional)

Step 1

Brown meat with onion. Drain and add to crockpot along with all other ingredients except beans. Cook on high for 3 hours. Add beans, cook another 2 hours. Or just do it all together for as long as you want.
