Kalbi (Korean BBQ)
- 3 or 4 lbs. Kalbi meat
- 1/2 apple or Korean pear, minced
- 1/2 c. soy sauce
- 1/4 c. cooking wine (or any leftover wine)
- 1/2 c. sugar (brown sugar for sweeter meat)
- 5 or 6 pieces garlic, minced
- 1/4 c. sesame oil
Preparation time 15mins
The key ingredient is the Asian Pear. I usually puree a whole korean pear instead of minced and go with brown sugar instead of regular sugar to make the kalbi a little bit sweeter.
Mix all ingredients except the meat in a big bowl. Stir until blended. Add the Kalbi meat. Marinate overnight.
