Streusal Filled Coffee Cake

My mom made this whenever we had corn shellers over when I was growing up

Ingredients

• Topping:
• 3/4 c sugar
• 1/4 c oil
• 1 egg
• 1/2 c milk
• 1 1/2 c flour
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/2 c packed brown sugar
• 2 T flour
• 2 tsp cinnamon
• 2 T melted butter
• 1/2 c chopped nuts (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Mix first three ingredients. Stir in milk. Sift and stir in dry ingredients. Spread 2/3 batter in greased and floured 9" square pan. Top with half the topping. Spread the rest of the batter on top. add the rest of the filling. Bake at 375 for 25 - 35 minutes
