Preparation
Step 1
Instructions
Generously spray the inside of a 8 inch and a 9 inch round cake pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add in the marshmallows & stir until completely melted. Remove from the heat, and stir in the Kelloggs® Rice Krispies® cereal until well coated.
Using a buttered spatula or a piece of parchment paper or wax paper, evenly press the mixture into the greased cake pans. Allow to cool completely.
Gently run a butter knife along the inside edge of each cake pan. Turn the round Kelloggs® Rice Krispies® treats onto a large cutting board. Using a pizza cutter, cut into slices but keep the circles intact. I did 3 rows across and 3 rows vertically for the smaller one, and 4 rows across and 3 rows vertically for the larger one. Arrange the Kelloggs® Rice Krispies® treat circles on the cutting board or on a large serving platter with the smaller circle on top.
Using a pastry bag with a larger opening frosting tip, frost each of the circles with the white frosting covering completely. Reserve a little of the frosting and mix with a few drops of the orange food coloring. Using a separate pastry bag fitted with a smaller opening frosting tip, use the orange frosting to make a carrot nose for the snowman. Sprinkle the entire snowman with the sparkling sugar.
Now comes the fun part- decorating! Grab the kids and get creative. We used chocolate candy melts to create the buttons and eyes for the snowman. Brown chocolate candies served as the mouth, while we used red chocolate candies to make a Santa hat for the snowman. We used mini marshmallows to create the fluffy lining on the hat and the white ball on the end of the hat. Red pull & peel licorice candies make a perfect scarf.
Once the decorating is done, serve immediately! Guest can simply pull a piece of the snowman off and enjoy. Best if served the same day.
