One of my favorite recipes when I was a kid... This is like a bar cookie and so very good.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2

    sticks butter

  • 1

    C sugar

  • 2

    eggs

  • 1/2

    tsp salt

  • 3

    tsp baking powder

  • 1/2

    tsp baking soda

  • 3

    C flour

  • 1

    tsp vanilla

  • Solo filling, flavor of your choice

  • chopped walnuts

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Cream butter, sugar together, when blended add the eggs and vanilla. Sift together the dry ingredients, then add slowly, mix until blended. Take half of the dough and spread it on a sheet pan, top with a can (or two) of your favorite solo filling. Carefully roll out the remaining dough and lay it over the top of the filling. Sprinkle with nuts and sugar. Bake 20 - 25 minutes.
