Ingredients

  • 2 cups (4 sticks) butter, softened, divided
  • 1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp plus 2 tsp Maple Flavor, divided
  • 2-3/4 cups flour
  • 1 pkg (16 oz) confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tbs water

Preparation

Step 1

BEAT 1 cup butter, brown sugar and salt until light and fluffy. Add egg and 1 tbs maple flavor; mix well. Gradually beat in flour until well mixed. Roll out on floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut out with 1-1/2 inch round cookie cutter.

BAKE in preheated 350 degree F oven 8 min or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks.

FOR the Filling, beat 1 cup butter and 2 tsp maple flavor until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar then water. To assemble, sandwich about 1 tsp filling between 2 cookies, pressing gently to spread filling.
