By

Nothing beats a warm mug of Spiked Mulled Cider by the fireplace. I found this recipe to be sweet enough without adding the sugar. Happy Holidays and enjoy!

Preparation

Step 1

Assemble the apples, cloves, orange slices, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and ginger into a double-layered cheese cloth. In a crock pot, combine the cheese cloth ingredients and the apple cider. Cover the slow cooker and cook until the flavors meld, 4 hours on LOW. Add the bourbon, brandy, or rum and stir to combine.

Let sit for 10 minutes for the flavors to meld. Keep warm and serve in mugs garnished with orange slices and cinnamon sticks.
