Ingredients

  • 2 cups AP Flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 6 Tbsp butter, chilled and sliced
  • 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 small bunch chives, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp mustard powder

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment and set aside. in a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt and baking powder. Using a pastry blender or your fingers, work the butter into the flour until the mixture is coarse. Add cheese and chives, mix to combine.

In a smaller bowl, combine eggs, sour cream and mustard powder. Whisk to combine, then add to the dry ingredients. Mix with a fork until just combined. Flour a large cutting board well. With floured hands, shape the dough into a rectangle. Cut into 10 triangles or squares. Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet, and bake for 20-25 minutes, until cooked through and golden. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
