Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup sugar for rolling

Step 1
Mix flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon & cloves together; set aside. In another bowl combine sugar, butter, egg & molasses.
Add the dry ingredients. Roll dough, by tablespoonfuls, into balls. Roll the balls of dough in the reserved sugar. Place rolled balls on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes. Makes 3 dozen.
