Ingredients

  • BASE: 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • TOPPING: 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 1/4 cup butter – softened
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup pecan halves ( I chopped mine a bit)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Rub flour, sugar, butter together . Press firmly into 7x11 pan. Bake at 350 for 5 min.

Combine sugar and syrup, simmer 5 min, cool slightly.

Pour over beaten eggs, stirring well. Stir in remaining ingredients, spread over partially baked dough. Bake at 450 for 10 min, reduce heat to 350 and bake for 20 min.

( I don’t simmer sugar and syrup, just beat everything together with mixer and pour over crust. If using a glass cake pan be careful to pour on slowly if the pan is still hot)
