Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 4 chicken breasts, cut into pieces
- 1 pkg. (8-10 oz.) mushrooms, quartered
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1 envelope Lipton Onion Soup Mix
- 1 1/4 c. water
- 1/2 c. dry red wine or water
- 1/2 t. dried oregano or thyme leaves, crushed

Step 1
In Dutch oven or 6 qt. saucepan, cook bacon over med. high heat until crisp. Remove bacon & set aside. Add chicken to drippings and brown. Remove chicken & set aside. Add mushrooms & garlic to drippings, stirring frequently, heat for about 4 minutes. Return chicken & bacon to Dutch oven. Stir in onion soup mix, blended with water, then add wine & oregano. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer covered 40 minutes until chicken is done. Serve over creamy mashed potatoes.
