Cake with Chocolate Chips on Top

Ingredients

• 6 1/2 oz cutup dates
• 1 1/2 cup boiling water
• 3/4 tsp baking soda
• Boil ingredients then cool.
• 1 1/4 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 2 eggs beaten
• 2 cups flour
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 3/4 tsp baking soda
• Add to date mixture
• Nut mixture
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup chopped nuts
• 1 pkg Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Step 1

Make date mixture
Add additional ingredients

Top with nut mixture

Oven 325
Grease and flour pan
Bake 40-45 minutes
