  • Bottom Layer:
  • 3 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 (10-ounce) bag mini marshmallows
  • 4-5 cups fruity pebbles
  • TOP LAYER:
  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 (10-ounce) bag mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup yellow cake mix
  • 6 cups rice krispies cereal
  • 1/4 cup sprinkles, more if desired

Butter a 9x13" baking dish, set aside.

For the bottom layer, melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat and add marshmallows. Stir until they begin to melt, however you won’t let the marshmallows melt all the way. Then you’ll press the fruity pebble mixture into the baking dish. I found it easiest to push down the mixture with a spoon coated in butter.

For the top layer, melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat and add marshmallows. Once almost melted, stir in the cake mix. Then stir in the rice krispies cereal and sprinkled and mix until it is completely coated with the marshmallow mixture. Sprinkle in half of the sprinkles and mix.

Next, pour the cake batter rice krispie treats on top of the first layer and top with more sprinkles if desired. Let sit for about 30 minutes before cutting. I find using a plastic knife to cut works best.
