Potato Recipe (Midge Schlahetka's?)

This is one of my Mother's (Jeannette Costigan's) recipes and I think she got it from one of our Chula Vista, CA neighbors (Midge Schlahetka?) back in the late 1960's.

Ingredients
- 8 potatoes
- Greens from onions (1 bunch)
- 1 stick margarine
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic salt
- 1/4 stick margarine
- Milk

Preparation
Step 1
1 potato (good size) for each person
8 potatoes
Peel and cut in big pieces. Boil in salt water til soft.
Drain.
While potatoes are cooking take greens from onions (1 bunch) chop very fine.
Take 1 stick margarine put in potatoes Throw in greens and margarine and about 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese Salt + pepper and smash (leave a little lump now and then).
Taste - add a little garlic salt if desired and mix. Put in casserole (thickish). Take 1/4 stick margarine and place in freezer -
Place in oven for 1 hr - until brown
If gets dry pour a little milk
