Ingredients

  • Caramel Apple Center:
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/3 c. butter, melted
  • 1/3 c. apple cider
  • 1 c. caramel dip
  • 1 c. crumbled graham crackers
  • 2 c. diced apples
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

For the dough: Combine the yellow cake mix, cinnamon, butter and cider, stirring until it forms a pliable dough. Divide the dough in half, setting one half aside and pressing the other half onto the bottom of a 9"x9" baking dish that's been lined with parchment paper. (If you don't have parchment paper, grease the bottom and sides of the pan with butter.)

For the Caramel Apple Center: Pour the caramel dip on top of the dough, then sprinkle on graham crackers.

Toss the apples with cinnamon, then sprinkle on top of the caramel layer.

Flatten discs of dough with your hands and plop them on top of the caramel layer, covering as much of the caramel as possible. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cake has turned golden and a toothpick inserted into the top cookie layer comes out with just a few crumbs (no gooey batter). Serve warm.
