Ingredients
- Cake:
- 1 stick margarine
- 2 cups flour
- 1 small can coconut
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
- 2 cups sugar
- 5 eggs whites, stiffly beaten
- 5 egg yolks
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
- Frosting:
- 1 8oz. pkg. cream cheese
- 1/2 stick margaine
- 1 box posdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Coconut

Step 1
Cake:
Cream shortening and margarine. Add sugar; beat until smooth. Add egg yolks; beat well. Combine flour and soda; add to cream mixture, alternately with buttermilk. Stir in vanilla; add coconut and nuts. Fold in egg whites. Pour batter into three greased 8 inch pans. Bake at 350* for 25 minutes.
Frosting:
Beat creat cheese and margarine until smooth. Add poser sugar and vanilla. Spread on cakes and add coconut.
