Step 1
Simple syrups are the staple of sweet teas. This one combines equal parts sugar, water and fresh or frozen mixed berries with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Bring all of the ingredients to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve and discard solids. Cool completely, then stir a teaspoon or two (or three!) of the berry syrup into a tall glass of brewed black iced tea. Garnish glasses with fresh berries and cinnamon sticks.
