Ingredients
- 2 large carrots, sliced
- 2 Tblsp. oil, divided
- 1 lb. boneless round or sirloin steak
- 1 14 1/2oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 8oz. can tomato sauce
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 1 4oz. can sliced mushrooms, drained

Step 1
In large skillet, saute carrots in 1 tblsp. oil until crisp-tender; remove and set aside. Cut meat into 4 pieces. Add meat and remaining oil to skillet; cover over medium heat until browned on both sides. Add tomatoes, sauce, sugar and oregano; cover and simmer 1 hour. Add onion, celery, mushrooms and carrots; cover and simmer for 45 minutes or until meat and vegetables are tender. Thicken if desired. Serve over hot cooked noodles.
