Ingredients

  • 1/2 t yeast
  • 2 T warm water
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 c flour
  • 1 c milk
  • 10 th day
  • 2/3 c oil
  • 2 c flour
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 large apple, chopped

Preparation

Step 1

Day one, combine yeast, warm water, and a pinch of sugar in a cup. allow to stand a few minutes until it begins to foam. In a large glass or plastic bowl combine sugar, flour and milk with a wooden or plastic spoon (not metal!). Stir in yeast mixture. Cover loosley and keep at room temperature.
Day 2, 3, 4 - Stir through once each day.
Day 5 - add and stir 1 c. sugar, 1 c. flour
Then stir in 1 c. milk
Day 6, 7, 8, 9 - Stir through once each day.
Day 10: Add and stirL 1 c. sugar, 1 c. Flour then stir in 1 c. milk. remove four cups of the mixture. Give one cup each to three friends to use aas a starter. Instruct them to put it in a bowl and start at day two. Use one cup as your own starter. Make friendship bread with what remains in the bowl. Back at 325 for 1 hour.
