Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Spray a regular sized donut pan with non stick baking spray.
Beat the butter and sugar until creamy. Add the egg, butter vanilla, and yogurt and beat again.
Mix together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Slowly add this mixture alternately with the milk until everything is mixed in.
Gently stir the sprinkles into the batter. Spoon the batter into a large ziplock bag and cut one corner off. Fill the donut cavities half full. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove and let cool in the pan for 2-3 minutes before gently removing the donuts and placing them on a wire rack.
Wipe the pan out with a paper towel and spray again with nonstick spray. Repeat with the rest of the batter. Let the donuts cool completely.
Whisk together the glaze ingredients. Divide the glaze evenly into 3 bowls. Tint two of the bowls with the red and blue color.
Spoon a little bit of each color over the tops of the donuts in a beach ball pattern. Use your finger or the back of a spoon to swirl the colors together carefully. Be careful not to swirl too much though.
Top with the gold star sprinkles and let set. Store in a very loosely sealed container.
