Ingredients
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 molasses
- 2 eggs
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1 T. ginger
- 1 t. salt
- 1 t. soda

Preparation
Step 1
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs and molasses; beat well. Sift dry ingredients. Add gradually to the creamed mixture. Form into a roll 2 1/2" in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper. Chill until stiff. Cut in 1/4" slices. Bake 375* on ungreased cookie sheets for 12 minutes, or until crisp and golden.
