Ingredients

  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 pound bacon, diced
  • 1 cp orange juice
  • 1 cup Jack Daniels bourbon
  • 1 up chicken stock
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water

Step 1

Dissolve cornstarch in water. Set aside.

Place the bacon and onion in a 2 quart saucepan. Saute over medium heat until the onion becomes translucent.

Add the orange juice, Jack Daniels, chicken stock and beef stock. Bring to a simmer and cook until the liquid is reduced by half.

Add the cornstarch mixture and return to simmer. Stir and remove from heat. Let cool.

Makes about 2 cups.

Store in refrigerator in a covered jar for up to 1 month. Reheat when ready to use. Suace will be thick.

Brush on poultry or pork as you barbecue.
