Preparation
Step 1
Lightly spray with Pam a 9 x 13 x 2-inch or larger casserole baking dish. Set aside.
Brown meat in skillet, drain. Add garlic, tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and oregano.
Cook this to a low boil then simmer for about 20 minutes until slightly thickened. Add more garlic and seasonings to taste.
Meanwhile, cook noodles in boiling water for 15 minute or follow directions on package (or buy the already cooked noodles). Drain and set aside.
Spread small amount meat mixture into prepared baking dish bottom.
First layer with single lasagna noodles.
Next layer with cheese: Parmesan, then Swiss cheese , then Mozzarella (use generous amount) cheese layer.
Next add a layer of meat mixture; Repeat layers again beginning with a layer of noodles.
Cover tightly with tin foil (no stick foil is best). Bake at 350 F-375F for about 20-30 minutes.
Check to see that lasagna is cooked through and the cheese is melted.
When lasagna is cooked, add a generous amount of cheese on top and return to oven, uncovered, just to melt cheese topping.
Remove from oven and let rest about 10 minutes before cutting to serve.
