Ingredients
- 8 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups Crisco
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 small can crushed pineapple with juice
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 cups (less 3 tablespoons) all-purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- GLAZE
- 1 box (16-ounces, or 4 cups) confectioner's sugar
- 1/2 stick (2-ounces) butter softened
- orange juice-small amount to thin glaze

Preparation
Step 1
Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour and salt. Stir in vanilla and pineapple with juice
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cake test done when toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
Remove cake from pan while still warm and plate.
Fork holes into to top of cake,
Pour glaze over cake and into holes forked into top and sides..
Glaze: Mix all to thick-pouring consistency for glaze.
