Luscious Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
- 8 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate squares
- 2 cups water hot
- 4 cups cake flour sifted
- 4 large eggs beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups (16-ounces;1-pint)sour cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 tablespoon baking powder fresh
- 4 cups sugar

Preparation
Step 1
10 cups batter = 2- 9x13 layers or = 2- 10 inch layers
Grease and flour pans. Line with parchment or waxed paper. Grease lightly over these.
Melt chocolate in the top of a double boiler over hot, not boiling, water.
Combine butter and the 2 cups hot water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stir in the melted chocolate.
Sift together the flour, 4 cups sugar and salt. Pour chocolate mixture into the flour mixture all at once. Blend well.
Mix in the sour cream, vanilla and baking soda. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Turn into prepared pans. Bake in preheated, 350 degrees F., oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Watch closely so as not to burn, remove pans from oven when cake layers test done. Cool in pans for 15 minutes.
Cool on cake layers on wire racks until completely cooled.
Frost.
