Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour sifted
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 large eggs separate out yolks
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup (8-ounces) heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon lemon zest, finely chopped optional
- 3 tablespoons butter melted

Preparation
Step 1
Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into large bowl,
Beat egg yolks slightly in small bowl. Stir in milk and cream. Blend in flour mixture until smooth. cream. Stir in lemon zest and melted butter.
Beat egg whites in medium-sized bowl until stiff but not dry peaks form. Fold gently into batter.
Bake in waffle iron following manufacturer's instructions.
Serve hot. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh fruit of your choice.
