  • 6 slices bread
  • butter
  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 6 large eggs beaten
  • 2 cups half and half cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Step 1

Night before:
Remove crust from bread slices. Spread bread slices with butter. Placed in greased 13x9x2-inch baking dish and set aside. Cook sausage until brown and crumbly; drain well, spoon over the bread slices; sprinkle with cheese. Combine eggs and half and half and salt; mix well and pour the cheese.
Cover well and chill overnight.
Remove from refrigerator 15 minutes before baking.
Bake casserole uncovered at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes or til set.
